Comic Book Review - 2000 AD Prog 2260

Rob reviews 2000 AD Prog 2260...

It's Wednesday which means I am back, yet again with another trip into the Thrillverse!
Yes, it's 2000 AD time! And we're diving straight into Prog 2260.

Sensitive Klegg continues his musical journey in 'Judge Dredd: The Musical', things start to wind down for both 'Dexter' and 'Scarlet Traces', we say goodbye to 'The Diaboliks', and hello to the Tankinar in 'The Out'.

Judge Dredd: The Musical - Part 2

Sensitive Klegg is back in The Meg and finds himself producing - and starring in - a musical about Judge Dredd. Things aren't simple (they never are) and as such Sensitive Klegg has to persuade a few characters from Dredd's past to take part in the show.
Naturally, someone is pulling the strings, and we'll let just say things are about to go into "overdrive"...

Rob Williams and Chris Weston deliver a ridiculous - and good looking - Dredd tale. The stage shots of Sensitive Klegg in his overstuffed Judge uniform, the Land Raider, and even the Michelin Man sum up the craziness of this tale in one picture.

The Diaboliks - London Calling - Part 4 (Final Part)

Things don't look good for Solomon as this four-part tale comes to an end. There's a dire warning for the future as Solomon is warned of an upcoming defeat and a potential loss.

What does it all mean? Well, hopefully, we don't have to wait too long. The Diaboliks has become a firm favourite of mine over their last few outings. From what started as a simple tale back in Cabalistics INC has evolved into something far more. And as always, Dom Readon brings a lot of beauty in his scratchy-rough art.

Dexter: Bulletopia Chapter 7 - Lordy Jordy King of Everything - Part 3

Much like The Diaboliks, Sin/Dex seems to become quick and fast rather than a long continuous strip. No idea why, but Dan Abnett certainly brings a lot of action to every chapter. While this time put we've both seem Sinister, we have had plenty of Dinosaurs!

'Lordy Jordy' has felt like a crazy side-quest, and here's hoping we get back on track in the next chapter.

Scarlet Traces: Storm Front - Part 10

Things start to wind down as Ahron appeals to the Martian's original forms. He's convinced these beings that there's something far better than mutual destruction, and as such he's now their advocate.

Is this the end? Probably not. The Scarlet Traces universe has so many untold tales left to tell. Regardless of how Ian Edington ends this chapter, there's still plenty left in the tank.

As always, D'Israeli packs a lot of punch into his work. The shifts in both colour and tone do a grand job in showing the difference between story aspects. And gives everything an eerie alien vibe.

The Out: Book 2 - Part 10

Cyd's had quite the journey over the last couple of issues. She's not only "hooked up" with a fellow human, Lustre. She's also had a heartbreaking moment with her long lost daughter who's somewhere in the UP.

It was an emotional kick that's been the driving force behind The Out since its opening chapter. Cyd finally gets some closure, and all seems well...

Que the return of the Tankinar!

The last time Cyd caught sight of this mysterious race - it was the last thing she saw. Even though they have never been revealed to the reader, their sheer mention strikes fear into Abnett's cast. This works more for Cyd as the Tankinar did kill her last time around. What next? Well, there's certainly going to be a lot of loss, but hopefully, Cyd remains relatively unscathed...
