Comic Book Review - Crackpot

Rob reviews Crackpot... Crackpot   is a brand-new all-ages comic compendium that's coming from the team behind Sentinel.  Following Sentinel's success, the team have decided to crowdfund Crackpot via Kickstarter. At the time of writing the project is currently at £508, and has been backed by 50 backers - myself included. Considering the success of Sentinel I have full confidence that Alan Holloway and Ed Doyle will smash their £600 target for Crackpot.  What's more interesting is that the comic will adopt the same sizing style seen within the USA. This means that  Crackpot  will not only look different to pre-established all-ages comics but will also fit into the standard comic bags and boxes...  Taking inspiration from titles such as;  The Pheonix, Buster , and  Krazy,  Crackpot aims to appeal to an all-ages audience. As such the 31-page comic is packed full of humour and general light-heartedness.  Taking place over ten stories, Crackpot is a bit of a mixed

Video Game Review - Beautiful Desolation

Rob reviews Beautiful Desolation on Nintendo Switch... Beautiful Desolation is a post-apocalyptic 2-D isometric point & click adventure. Developed and published by Untold Tales  , Beautiful Desolation takes you on an adventure into the far future where rampant use of alien technology has set humanity on a much different path. It's all a bit District 19/Fallout as you attempt to undo the events that lead up to this shocking future... The game takes place in a world much different from ours. This world is ruled by a race of people who have sacrificed their humanity for immortality thanks to reverse engineering various alien technologies. The story begins back in 1980 where a large spacecraft appears in the skies above the Atlantic Ocean. This craft dubbed -   Penrose is the source of much scientific interest and as such leads to rapid advances in human technology.  10-years after the arrival of Penrose, our protagonist, Mark Leslie convinces his security

Video Game Review - Maneater

Rob reviews Maneater on Nintendo Switch... Deep Blue Sea, Sharknado, The Meg, Shark Night 3D... it's fair to say that sharks have had quite some bad representation throughout the years. Whilst most media portrays the shark as "the monster", in reality, it's mostly the human protagonists that are the real antagonist with the shark acting on an often unrealistic instinct. Maneater  aims to change this with its perfect blend of sharing (that's shark RPG...), gratuitous violence, and lots of blood. Whilst the title was released onto the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2020, it's only now come home to the Nintendo Switch.  But, does the hybrid handheld console place Maneater at the top of the food chain? Or does it need a one-way trip to Amityville? Find out in my review below... The story (yes there's a story!) of Maneater is quite good. We play the role of a bull shark who unknowingly finds itself the star of the T.V. reality show - Maneaters Vs. Sh

Comic Book Review - Alien #3

Rob reviews Alien #3... I've given Marvel's first foray into the Xeno-Verse a bit of a bashing over the last few weeks. I've moaned about everything from Larroca's wooden art to Johnson's "been there, done that" plot. However, Alien #3 seems to be somewhat of a turning point. Johnson has finally settled on where this story is going, and Larroca has finally painted Gabe Cruz with a slightly different facial expression... We return to Epsilon Station as Cruz and his fellow Colonial Marines come under attack from the Xenomorph. It's a bit of a one-sided fight as the lone Xenomorph ploughs through Cruz and his team. What's more interesting is that when the Alien retreats it takes the wounded and near-death Lewandowski with it - minus his rib cage!? This then leaves Cruz, Hamilton, and Dorsey alone with Hamilton quite rightly losing his cool. Whilst Cruz stops short on spilling the details on his deal with Wayland Yutani, we
