Rob reviews 2000 AD Prog 2260... It's Wednesday which means I am back, yet again with another trip into the Thrillverse! Yes, it's 2000 AD time! And we're diving straight into Prog 2260. Sensitive Klegg continues his musical journey in ' Judge Dredd: The Musica l', things start to wind down for both ' Dexter ' and ' Scarlet Traces ', we say goodbye to ' The Diaboliks ', and hello to the Tankinar in ' The Out '.  Judge Dredd: The Musical - Part 2 Sensitive Klegg is back in The Meg and finds himself producing - and starring in - a musical about Judge Dredd. Things aren't simple (they never are) and as such Sensitive Klegg has to persuade a few characters from Dredd's past to take part in the show.  Naturally, someone is pulling the strings, and we'll let just say things are about to go into "overdrive"... Rob Williams and Chris Weston deliver a ridiculous - and good looking - Dredd tale. The stage sho

Video Game Review - Encodya

Rob reviews Encodya on Nintendo Switch... Encodya  is a point-and-click adventure title set within a sprawling cyberpunk world. Based upon an 11-minute short film called " Robot Will Protect You ", Encodya follows Tina, a 9-year old orphan and SAM-53, her robot guardian. Developed by Chaosmonger Studios , Encodya aims to continue the themes set within " Robot Will Protect You " and the studio's live-action short " Attack of the Cyber Octopuses ".  However, with such an abundance of sources, is this point-and-click adventure a masterpiece? Or is its meaning lost in translation? Come with me as I find out... Set within a Blade Runner -esq world, Encodya sees you play as Tina, a 9-year old street orphan, and SAM-53, her robot guardian. Their goal is to journey across Neo Berlin whilst attempting to discover just why Tina is an orphan and to save the city from the menacing mayor. Encodya plays like your traditional point-and-click a

Video Game Review - Antonball Deluxe

Rob reviews Antonball Deluxe on Nintendo Switch... Antonball Deluxe is the latest in a long line of simple Switch titles that'll either capture your interest with their gimmick lead gameplay or leave you wanting more. Sadly for Antonball Deluxe, it's the latter. While it certainly looks like the 3rd wall breaking WarioWare , that's where the similarity ends.  Antonball is a fairly simple game. You take on the role of a character whose sole responsibility is to direct a ball to break blocks while navigating a Super   Smash Bro's style arena. On paper, this sounds quite fun, and to an extent it is. However, with Antonball it just doesn't seem to mix in the right way. General gameplay is a mixture of really odd decisions that don't seem to go with what the game is trying to be. When busting bricks, your character had a few moves at their disposal. One such move is a dash attack that can be used to essentially speed up, or add more power t

Comic Book Review - Star Wars: The High Republic - Trail of Shadows #2

Rob reviews Star Wars: The High Republic - Trail of Shadows #2... Star Wars meets The Wire as Trail of Shadows sets off on its journey. Previously we were introduced to duel protagonists Emerick Caphtor and Sian Holt. Two very different characters who unknowingly are after the same answers. However one is a high-ranking Jedi, and the other is a high-end private investigator.  Continuing from the last issue both Caphtor and Holt are summoned by Chancellor Soh to review their unknowingly connected investigations. It's soon made clear to the two characters that they are after the same offender and as such Soh tasks the two investigators to work together. After a bit of reluctance, both Caphtor and Holt head off to the planet Vorzyd in search of   'The Gambler's Paradise'. Soh informs the duo that a member of the Nihil is there and is attempting to sell the weapon on the black market.  During the voyage, there's plenty of characterisation as both characte

Comic Book Review - 2000 AD Prog 2259

Rob reviews 2000 AD Prog 2259... It's that time of the week where I venture into the Thrillverse to look at this week's 2000 AD Prog.  This week sees the return of everyone's favorite Klegg as Rob Williams and Chris Weston team-up for a Dredd tale like no other. Backing Sensitive Klegg on this musical journey is the latest from The Out, The Diaboliks, Dexter, and Scarlet Traces. Judge Dredd: The Musical - Part 1 I'm not going to lie, I've been anticipating this one since Rob Williams teased the story a few months back on Twitter. Not only for the reason that's it's going to be all kinds of crazy, but it's being drawn by Chris Weston !  Sensitive Klegg is also back, and the character has had a change of career since we last saw him. Turns out that he's been hanging out in Sino-Cit and has become quite the star. Now back in the Meg, Klegg is talked into creating a musical about Judge Dredd.  On paper this story does sound absolutely bonker

He also comes to with trademark Lawgiver gun, which also fits into the holster on his boot, and Daystick club accessories. Hailing from another dimension, Judge

Video Game Review - Gynoug

Rob reviews Gynoug on Nintendo Switch... The Nintendo Switch is becoming a hotbed for the ports of old arcade titles and retro classics. Leading this charge is indie developer Ratalaika Games, who are no strangers to porting often niche titles to the Nintendo console.  This time around we're diving into SEGA Mega Drive territory with the 1991 scrolling shmup - Gynoug ( aka Wings of Wor). The plot of Gynoug is your typical good vs. evil which was/is very typical of early 90's titles. The demons of Iccus, led by a being known as the 'Destroyer' are invading the Heavens. As the angel Wor, you are tasked with driving back the Invaders by finding and defeating the Destroyer. And that's it.  Much like other 16-bit titles the game doesn't give much - if any - exposition through its gameplay. Often you would have needed to read the titles instruction booklet, or relied on a title scrawl to get some sense of the plot. With this version of Gynoug,  it remains
