Comic Book Preview - Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus #1

Titan Comics have given us a preview of what to expect when Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus comes to comic book stands in July…. 



Written by Kianna Shore and Mellow Brown, along side artist, Mariano Taibo, Tokyo Nexus is set to further expand Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner world. 

Tokyo 2015: Two Kalanthia survivors fight for their lives in a world where Blade Runners are the least of their problems.

 Following a failed mission Off-World, the only two survivors of a combat squad, ex-marine Mead and Replicant combat model Stix, have returned to Tokyo to search for the traitor who left them to die.

Now operating as an unofficial private detective agency, Stix and Mead find themselves caught up in a deadly Patent War between the Yakuza, the Tyrell Corporation and Cheshire, a rival corporation developing their own bootleg Replicant technology as they search for a missing woman.













Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus #1 is set to launch on 31st July, 2024.

Retrospective: How Five Nights at Freddy’s Quietly Redefined Horror Games

It has been over a decade since Five Nights at Freddy’s first flickered onto our screens, quietly released on August 8, 2014, by a relatively unknown indie developer named Scott Cawthon. At the time, it seemed like just another quirky horror game in the ever-growing pile of let’s play bait on Steam. A game where you sit still in a security office and monitor malfunctioning animatronics through grainy security feeds? Sounds niche, right? Yet here we are, several games, books, and a big-screen adaptation later, and FNaF (as it’s now colloquially known) is no longer just a one-hit wonder. It is a full-blown pop culture phenomenon, having influenced the indie horror space more than perhaps any other series in recent memory. Novel Review - The Horus Heresy: Horus Rising

The seeds of heresy are sown… Horus Rising was my first foray into the novels that depicted the wider Warhammer 40K universe. While what would be later known as the Horus Heresy is a well known plot point that drives the 40K table-top narrative, aside from a brief overview we’ve never fully explored the galaxy-wide civil war that fractured the might of the Imperial regime.  Quite often talk of Horus’ betrayal was often left over to the related Codexes, or in my experience the 2nd edition rule book. Here, Games Workshop would set the scene with talk of how Horus - the Emperor’s most favourite son - turned against his father and instigated a civil war which saw nearly half of his fellow Adeptus Astartes legions follow suit and turn traitor with him. With the Horus Heresy novels, we’re now get the nitty gritty of this betrayal.
