Video Game Review - Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

Image
Rob reviews Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on Xbox Series X… After being delayed for just over a year, Swedish developer Fatshark has finally released Darktide on to consoles. With a completely revamped skill tree, and plenty of under the hood changes, the console release is essentially the definitive version of the Astra Militarum shooter. So with a bulk of Nurgle Cultists standing in the way, I said a silent prayer to the Emperor and jumped into the fray.  As a Warhammer 40K fan, Darktide ticked quite a few boxes. While I gravitate to the Adeptus Astartes, playing at the Militarum did make a nice change of pace. As for plot Darktide spins it’s narrative into a self contained story away from the current story that’s currently building in the table-tops tenth edition. Taking the role of a convict, your character is conscripted into the service of the mysterious Inquisitor Grendel and falls under the command of his subordinates. From his flagship - The Mourningstar - you’ll descend int...

Warhammer 40K: Lion El’Johnson Rules Revealed

Image
The Lion returns to the 41st millennium… With the long rumoured return of the Dark Angels Primarch finally revealed during last weeks AdeptiCon, Games Workshop have today given us a glimpse into El’Johnson’s fighting prowess.  Dispute having missed the last 10,000 years, the Lion hasn’t gained a single but of rust. So as the might of the Imperium gears up towards the Tyranid threat, the Dark Angels get the return of their monolithic leader.  Much like his Ultramarine brother, Robute Guilliman, Lion El’Johnson has some pretty impressive stats. What sets him apart from Guilliman is both his attack rating (10), and his prowess with the Fealty sword. Utilising both of the swords skills with a pretty powerful armour penetration of -3, and -5 means in the right hands Lion is going to be one impressive model.  Of course any skilled warrior of the 41st millennium needs a bit of defence to back them up, and following the tradition of Guilliman, El’Johnson has a piece of their fath...

Video Game Review - Warhammer 40K: Shootas, Blood, & Teef

Image
Rob reviews Warhammer 40K: Shootas, Blood, & Teef on Nintendo Switch... The grim-dark future of the 40,000th  millennium is one that's full of war. Its a universe spanning conflict that has embroiled numerous races to fight one another for galactic dominance. It's also a universe where no one side is the light in the perpetual darkness.  The lore that surrounds Games Workshop 's table-top miniature game is both expansive as it is vast. From simply searching a name such as 'Abaddon the Despoiler', or 'Marneus Calgar' you'll be greeted by a full-blooded (and I use that term liberally) history of the characters, their battles, and...well pretty much anything else you can think off.  As vast as the 40,000th millennium is, it's also as deadly. No other enemy has seen more battles than the bloodthirsty Orks. These menacing brutes love to fight. Wether it be the forces of Chaos, the Emperor's Astates, or themselves - no one stands in the...

Aboard the World Eaters’ malevolent flagship...

New Daemon Primarch Angron 40K Model To Spearhead World Eater Revamp

Image
All hail the Blood God!... Back in May during Warhammer Fest 2022 , Games Workshop announced that there was big changes coming to the World Eater army. Originally forming part of the larger Chaos Space Marine horde, the World Eater's would soon be getting their one Codex, game mechanics, and some much needed - new units.  Fast-forward to now, and Games Workshop have revealed who will be leading the resurgent World Eater army into battle - the Daemon Primarch Angron!  ' The Daemon Primarch of Khorne is a gigantic slab of warp-fuelled muscle. He’s been totally reforged into the image of his bloody master, flesh as red as the cascade of gore he leaves in his wake.  Yet take a closer look and you can still see the origins of this Daemon Prince. The Butcher’s Nails are still present, now fused into his very form. Likewise, scraps of his old Nucerian warplate still remain – like the shoulder pad that pays homage to his former Legion, even if the teeth are now some...

Comic Book Review - Warhammer 40,000: Sisters of Battle #1

Image
Rob reviews Warhammer 40,000: Sisters of Battle #1... The Warhammer 40,000 Universe is quite an untapped source when it comes to comic books. Whilst there have been some forms of a Warhammer comic throughout the years, none of them has stood the test of time - or lasted long within the bloated comic book market. This time around things looks to be different as Marvel partners with Games Workshop to bring a tale of the Adepta Sororitas aka The Sisters of Battle to comic pages.  Warhammer 40,000: Sisters of Battle tells the story of the planet Siscia that's in the midst of open rebellion against its Imperial masters. Hoping to quell this dissent before it spreads to the rest of the planetary system, a small group of Battle Sisters from the Orders Militant have been given the task. The Sisters soon face enormous odds as the Imperial's greatest enemy - the forces of Chaos - seem to be pulling the rebellions strings from deep below the planet's surface.  ...
