Comic Book Preview - Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Lost Summer #1

BOOM! Studios have today given us a sneak peak into what to expect when Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Lost Summer #1 lands on comic book shelves.

The special issue one-Shot! Buffy the Last Vampire Slayer writer Casey Gilly, along with artist Lauren Knight (Golden Rage, Time Before Time), colorist Francesco Segala (Firefly, House of Slaughter) with color assists by Gloria Martinelli, and letterer Ed Dukeshire bring fans a frightfully fun story set in the continuity of the cult classic TV series, available in May 2023.

‘Spike is determined to keep the last copy of his embarrassing poetry from being discovered, sending Buffy and the gang on a faux-supernatural goose chase to New Orleans to cover his tracks. While at an antiques fair along the way, the group is captivated by The Casquette Girls’ clothes on display. Dawn utters a wish she most likely should’ve kept to herself, and the gang experiences a first hand account of the sisters’ identities…beyond what they could have ever imagined!’

Buffy The Vampire Slayer: The Lost Summer #1 is scheduled to hit comic book shelves on May 5th, 2023.

Comic Book Review - The Best of 2000 AD Vol. 3

Rob reviews The Best of 2000 AD Vol.3… The ‘Ultimate Mix-Tape’ of 2000 AD’s greatest hits is back for its third volume. Packed with an array of specially curated strips, The Best of 2000 AD series does its very best in introducing you to the world of Tharg, and his Thrillverse. Much like its predecessors, this volume offers up an enticing mixture of strips and feature that draw across all corners of the wider 2000 AD mythos. While we do get a couple of standard trips to Mega-City 1 with Judge Dredd, series Editor Owen Johnson shows us the anthologies more “Tales of the Unexplained” side as things get a little bizarre. Personally, this third volume has been my favourite out of the series so far. Not only does it feature a Judge Dredd written by Michael Carroll, we also have the debut of Ian Edginton and D’Israeli.
