Rob reviews Dark Blood #1... "What if you were given the power to change the course of history?"  It's the ultimate question that's got so many answers to it. While the subject has been crossed throughout various books, television shows, and video games there's always been both good and bad sides to this coin. On one hand, you could create a utopia, on the other, you could see a literal hellscape. It's a tough one to answer but "what would you do?"  Unfortunately,  Dark Blood doesn't have an answer yet, but this (and I use the term loosely) "time travelling" original six-parter from BOOM! Studios not only tackles a serious subject, but it also leaves you wanting more.  Dark Blood starts its story in 1955. We're introduced to Avery as he leaves a diner and heads for home. Rob reviews Song of Horror on Xbox One... Horror films have lost their ways in recent years. I remember the first time I watched  Halloween I was terrified, which lead to a hilarious routine in checking the cupboards and closets every night for one Michael Myers...age ratings are there for a reason!  Anyway, modern horror is more akin to an action movie than horror. It seems to be a game of "who dies the most gruesome?" before the lead character find their inner strength to defeat whatever it is that's butchering their friends. Song of Horror is a game that fully embraces its horror roots. Taking what the genre does best - a large ensemble of characters, cutthroat tension, and a lot  of terror. Throughout its 5 chapters, you'll take control of this cast as they attempt to survive the ordeal at hand. Of course, not everyone is going to survive and with each death, the tension rises. Rob reviews Cotton Reboot! on Nintendo Switch... I've always been a fan of the old school shmup. It's a mixed genre of themes that vary from space combat to the more bizarre, and  let's not talk about the often punishing difficulty. There's just something about these games that draws me to them. In my younger years I would always gravitate towards After Burner II and would end up spending most, if not all of my pocket money on attempting to save the world. Back in 1991 Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams was released and ushered in a shmup sub-genre - "cute 'em up". This sub-genre mixes the formula by replacing the monstrous-looking aliens with cute chibi-style characters. Rob reviews Power Rangers #9... After months of teasing, the Empyreal threat has finally been revealed. Last time out the Omega Rangers attempted to halt the destruction of Hartunia at the hand of a single Empyreal warrior. Unfortunately, not everything went to plan and the Rangers got tossed about like ships in the wind by the more advanced Empyreal. This defeat then resulted in the destruction of Hartunia which sent both the Hartunian survivors - and the Rangers fleeing.  Yet, even after the dust had settled there's yet another twist in the tale. And it leads back to Zordon's past... With the Rangers and what's left of the Hartunians back at Safehaven, it's safe to say that tensions are at a knifes edge. As Trini attempts to gain the attention of the Yellow Emissary, Drakkon makes another bid for freedom.  The last few issues of Power Rangers have made for some compelling reading.
