Video Game Review - Metal Slug 1st & 2nd Mission Double Pack

Image
Rob reviews Metal Slug 1st & 2nd Mission Double Pack on Nintendo Switch... I've been a big fan of SNK's Metal Slug for several years now. From stumbling upon a version of Metal Slug 3 back on the Xbox Live Arcade, I've since shot my way through most - if not all of the shooter's offerings. One part of the franchise I wasn't familiar with is Metal Slug 's outings on the NEOGEO Pocket Colour. Whilst I was eager to experience the  Metal Slug 1st & 2nd Mission Double Pack what I found was one downright awful game, and the other...well it was M.I.A. I've struggled with writing this review for a good couple of months. I've been hoping (and praying) that since launch SNK would come along and at least patch some of the "janky-ness", or at least give us Metal Slug 2nd Mission . However as of writing the ' 2nd Mission' is still nowhere to be seen. There isn't a great deal that I can say about  Metal Slug Fi...

Video Game Review: Samurai Shodown - Xbox Series X

Rob Lake reviews Samurai Shodown on Xbox Series X... I have a massive soft spot for old arcade beat'em up's. Games like Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and King of Fighters are games that I grew up with. Me and my friends I still to this day meet up and go toe-to-toe on a selection of retro titles that we own between us and often reminisce over past glories or the end of particular friends winning streak (you know who you are). To go that extra mile one of my friends even owns his own arcade cabinet (or three) that he is collecting official boards for!  I jumped at the chance to review Samurai Shodown as the series has been a favourite of mine for quite a few years. Samurai Shodown is the newest instalment in the Samurai Shodown (Samurai Spirits) series and has been developed by SNK . Sancho is the nineteenth game released in the franchise and has taken the series back to its roots in the form of a soft reboot. The overall setting of the game takes place betw...

Rob Lake reviews SNK VS CAPCOM: The Match of the Millennium on Nintendo Switch... It's finally here, arguably one of the best crossover titles of the last 21-years has finally made its way to a modern console. Yes, SNK Vs Capcom: The Match of the Millennium has been ported to the Nintendo Switch!  SNK Vs Capcom: The Match of the Millennium is the second game in the highly regarded SNK Vs Capcom series. It features a total of 26 characters from various SNK and Capcom games, eight of which are hidden. Gameplay options include 2-fighter tag teams, 3-fighter queue teams, one-on-one and a host of hidden extras such as handicap battles.
