Garth Ennis heads back to WW2 with Battle Action Vol. 2… Garth Ennis (Preacher, The Boys) returns to Battle Action and brings a roster of writers and artists to help him resurrect characters from the classic UK comics Battle and Action. From air ace Johnny Red to the daring Nina Petrova, and from lethal British agent Dredger to the louche Major Eazy. Battle Picture Weekly was where the revolution in British comics began. Created in 1975 by writers and editors Pat Mills and John Wagner, it introduced new grittiness into comics with its cast of anti-heroes and misfits. Death has finally caught up to Barbara Hershey, and Mega-City One will never be the same… The final chapter of Hershey by Rob Williams, Simon Fraser and Simon Bowland hit the pages of 2000 AD Prog 2349 this Wednesday, and brought with it quite a significant change to the ‘Dreddverse’.  Barbara Hershey is no more!  Created by John Wagner and Brian Bolland in 1980, Hershey has been a mainstay of Judge Dredd's world ever since – a street Judge who attained the city's highest position, a friend and foe to Dredd, and someone whose lifetime of service is ending with a tale of revenge and retribution. Having previously faked her death, Hershey was seriously ill from an incurable virus as she attempted to deal with an alien outbreak that could destroy her beloved city. Her past and uncertain future fused together in the third and final book of Rob Williams, Simon Fraser and Simon Bowland’s ‘Hershey’, as seen in the concluding chapter of their run in Prog 2349. Only a few people knew t...

Walter Goodwater takes us to Red Valley an eerie town in California. Sadie is a 'normal' woman who is thrown into a world she has no idea about and is far different to her own. One minute Sadie is a waitress the next she is The Liar and keeper of secrets. All of a sudden Sadie has to work out what she has to do, what the King wants from her, and why the Sheriff is after her. Sadie is out to find these answer and find her Mums ledger of lies all while dealing with the grief and loneliness of loosing someone close.   Through the novel, we come across an array of interesting characters. The one's that stand out most for me are the Laughing Boys and their Demons. The best way I can describe th...
