Rob reviews Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia #4... It's been a few months since I last journeyed into the strange world of Xanatopia. Across the previous three issues, writer DC Horn has introduced us to Nora - a monster-slaying badass whose past is just as mysterious as her present, and future. Now as Nora lies unconscious as a result of her grueling fight with the monster that roams the Statue Field, she's approached by an otherworldly figure.  Is this new character the God it claims to be? Or is it just a figment of Nora's imagination? Picking up where  OUATIX #3 ends,  #4 sees Nora in a bit of a predicament. While her body is still within the real world, he mind consciousness is transported to Xanatopia's future. Here Nora finds a world where once gleaming towers have been reduced to rubble, and strange jellyfish-like creatures float across the skies. Before she's got a chance to catch her bearings, Nora's attacked by another being who can utilize ...

Rob reviews Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia Issue #3... DC Horn and David Swanson  are back with another issue of Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia. Subtitled ' The Existence Of Angels: Part 1' , we get to see the further adventures of Nora as she attempts to grieve for her fallen friend and companion - Cherry. Rob reviews Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia #2... We last saw Nora and Cherry as the two warriors were tasked with investigating monster sightings within the generator fields - a vast complex of lightning rods that harnesses the power of an overhead storm. While the duo question where these monsters are hiding, the ground gives way and the nightmare-inducing creatures emerge. Now, Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia is back and issue #2 deals with this fight. However, come to its conclusion no one is left unscathed... When I reviewed the first issue of Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia,  I found that the comic was a well-crafted introduction, that didn't move out of first gear. While that's perfectly fine, I'm glad to see that issue #2 picks up the pace. Not only this, but writer DC Horn also explores the dynamic between Nora and Cherry, as well as delving more into the wider world.  This time out we're thrown back into the action as Nora and Cherry battle the creature...

Rob takes an advanced look at Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia #1... Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia  tells the story of Nora; a magic-wielding cyborg who happens to fight monsters. While this description does point toward a fusion between sci-fi and fantasy,  Once Upon A Time In Xanatopia differs by featuring a setting that's mostly on par with a world much like our own.  As the narrative goes, this opening issue sets off pretty slow. Writer DC Horn utilises the slow pacing to introduce us to Nora and her world over a seemingly normal family breakfast. It's here where we meet Nora's squire; Cherry as well as his wife and adopted daughter. Everything seems fairly normal as Horn takes us through a seemingly everyday occurrence for the characters. The first glimpse we see that something is different (aside from Nora's cybernetics) is when Cherry starts narrating a previous adventure that the duo had been on. Things then take a more fantasy turn as Cherry entertai...
