Rob reviews Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #102... Reunited and Recharged, the new era of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers got off to a fantastic start. Now under the tenureship of Melissa Flores and Simona Di Gianfelice , the Rangers have been thrown straight back into the thick of things.  With machinations of the past now reaching their fruition, this era has already blown all expectations out of the figurative water. And with Rita Repulsa - or should that be Mistress Vile - back on the scene, things are heating up nicely!  There's quite a lot to unpack here, so let's jump straight in!  We're back once again on the Moon as Rita reacquaints herself with the Rangers. In a show of might - and along with their new companion Vessel, she wastes no time in taking Tommy, Matt, and Kimberley out of the fight. Elsewhere, Rocky and Aisha manage to thwart Finnster and the Throne monster and then head to back up the rest of the team.  As Tommy holds off Mist...

Video Game Review - Honey, I Joined A Cult

Image
Rob reviews Honey, I Joined A Cult on Steam... Na,na,na,na,na, leader! If you have fond memories of a certain episode of The Simpsons,  then developer Sole Survivor Games , and publisher Team17 have a game for you!  Honey, I Joined A Cult is a sandbox-management simulation game that places you in charge of your very own cult. Across its gameplay, you'll lead your cult from humble beginnings, right up to world domination, self-sacrifice, or something more sinister. The choice is yours!  While Honey, I Joined A Cult is one big sandbox, it does have a semblance of the story behind it. Upon loading into the game, you're introduced to an old-fashioned police crackdown as the Law raids quite a large compound. As the sizable police presence works its way through the maze of corridors, the leader of this cult makes haste and escapes.  Now on the run, this character needs a new identity, to then start yet another cult - which is where we come in. Th...

Video Game Review - Trifox

Image
Rob reviews Trifox on Xbox Series X... Back in the day, it was commonplace for developers to base their games around cute animal mascots. Go back a couple of console generations and these anthropomorphic animals not only came in all shapes and sizes - there were hundreds of them. While names such as Spyro the Dragon , Crash Bandicoot , and Sonic the Hedgehog have become household names. There are plenty of mascots who've fallen to the wayside. (Who remembers Blinx?) Recently the "anthropomorphic generation" has seen a bit of a renaissance. With Kao, The Kangaroo, Sonic Frontiers , and TMNT: Shredders Revenge having their moment in the spotlight it is now time for another animal to join their ranks.  Belgian developer Glowfish Interactive alongside  publisher, Big Sugar  has created Trifox - a tale about a fox, a stolen television remote control, and a whole horde of evil minions. First announced back in 2019 for a spring 2020 release, Trifox has also had qui...

Video Game Review - Dying Light 2: Bloody Ties DLC

Image
Rob reviews Dying Light 2: Bloody Ties DLC... Across Dying Light 2 's sprawling campaign, I was left with one burning question, "what do the people of Villedor do for fun?". While I can't imagine that there is much "fun" to be had during a zombie apocalypse, it's the downtime between foraging for supplies or battling rival factions that begs the question.  Thankfully, Techland has answered this question with their first piece of story DLC for Dying Light 2 . Dubbed " Bloody Ties ", this brand-new content takes Aiden out of the Villedor streets, and under the spotlights of Carnage Hall. It's here that a brutal gladiatorial arena has made a home for itself, and it's another mountain Aiden will have to climb in need of the "greater good" - and tackle its nefarious ruler "Skullface". Despite being DLC, Bloody Ties doesn't take place after the end of the main narrative. In fact it doesn't...

Comic Book Review - Kamen Rider Zero-One #1

Image
Rob reviews Kamen Rider Zero-One #1... Much like its  Power Rangers rival , Kamen Rider has been around for quite a few years. Across its rich history, the tokusatsu show has had various guises, protagonists, antagonists, and plenty of tie-in media.  Now, Titan Comics  is publishing a whole new original comic book series that's based on the popular Kamen Rider Zero-One. And after months of teasing, issue #1 is finally here.  The focal point for this four-part series is Aruto Hiden, failed comedian and new CEO of his grandfather's company. After only just discovering his grandfather's Kamen Rider technology, Aruto is thrust into a world that's far different from his normality. As such he's struggling to find his purpose within this world, whilst dealing with that higher call to be something greater.  As characters go, Aruto is very relatable. On the surface, he's simple enough. But dive deeper and he's a troubled youngster carrying the weight of t...

Video Game Review - Warhammer 40K: Shootas, Blood, & Teef

Image
Rob reviews Warhammer 40K: Shootas, Blood, & Teef on Nintendo Switch... The grim-dark future of the 40,000th  millennium is one that's full of war. Its a universe spanning conflict that has embroiled numerous races to fight one another for galactic dominance. It's also a universe where no one side is the light in the perpetual darkness.  The lore that surrounds Games Workshop 's table-top miniature game is both expansive as it is vast. From simply searching a name such as 'Abaddon the Despoiler', or 'Marneus Calgar' you'll be greeted by a full-blooded (and I use that term liberally) history of the characters, their battles, and...well pretty much anything else you can think off.  As vast as the 40,000th millennium is, it's also as deadly. No other enemy has seen more battles than the bloodthirsty Orks. These menacing brutes love to fight. Wether it be the forces of Chaos, the Emperor's Astates, or themselves - no one stands in the...

Indie Spotlight Review - Raze #5

Image
Rob reviews Raze #5... Samuel Willis and Tremayne Pimm are back with issue 5 of their comic book series, Raze .  With tensions within the group at an all-time high, they now have to deal with Mark who's gone missing in the woods. Meanwhile, Joe (who's infected by the virus) has escaped from the house and is also loose in the very same woods... Last time I sat down with Raze  I had a bit of a mixed reaction. While it's easy to see both Willis and Pimm 's passion for their project, it's a little disjointed. Where the duo does well in portraying the impending horror and tension within their character group. It's then let down by some odd pacing, and it's a general sense of shallowness.  So, how does Raze #5 fair?  Picking up straight after the events seen in issue #4, Raze #5 opens with Victoria's realization that Joe has gone from near-death to disappearing altogether. As she alerts Ashley and Ian to the situation, we then switch to youngster...
