Video Game Review - Turrican Anthology Volume 1 & 2

Image
Rob reviews Turrican Anthology Volume 1 & 2 on PlayStation 5... Turrican   is a hard-core side-scrolling shooter that made its name across the Super Nintendo, Sega Mega Drive, and the Amiga. Throughout its various titles you guided a super-soldier against various cyborg meanies, whilst attempting to outrun the clock. With gameplay that puts Dark Souls/Elden Ring to shame, Turrican is probably accountable for many rage-induced controller breakages.  For those who didn't experience Turrican back in the day - and can't afford those eBay/CeX prices - fret not. The kind folks over at Ratalika Games, Factor Five, and ININ Games  have joined forces to produce the Turrican Anthology 1 & 2 - two separate games that form one definitive collection.  Much like other games from the 80s and 90s, Turrican is very thin in conveying its plot. As such you're left with a basic premise that's described in the game's manual. You play as a beefed-up soldier who ...

Creator Interview: Dave Heeley talks This Comic Is Haunted

Rob speaks to Dave Heeley about his upcoming comic; This Comic Is Haunted... Back in July, The77 Publications headed onto Kickstarter for another round of crowdfunding. This time, the publisher was seeking crowd support for an entirely new addition to their ever-expanding catalogue.  The title for this new anthology is the spine-chilling; ' This Comic Is Haunted '. Danny Cannon 's Hollywood feature film had attempted to turn baby-faced Sylvester Stallone into the rough-and-ready Joe Dredd, to then team him up with the God-awful Rob Schnider . While Cannon 's film is mainly remembered for its portrayal of Mega-City One, and many terrible Stallone quotes ("I knew you would say that!"), it wasn't the only attempt that year to open Judge Dredd up to a wider audience. To capitalise on the hype to the feature films' potential success - and to establish a foothold overseas - 2000 AD licenced Judge Dredd to American comic book publisher DC. Of course, this wouldn't be the last time Judge Dredd went stateside as IDW would also attempt their own 'Dreddverse' in 2012.  What then followed is ' Judge Dredd: Legends of the Law ', a 13-issue series tha...
